First Tuesday of each month:

The Song of Solomon: God’s Soulmating and Lovemaking Guide

We’ll talk about the Song of Solomon, sometimes verse-by-verse and sometimes by topic. You can call in questions or make comments. You can also email Patsy. In the meantime, you might want to read my Song of Solomon: God’s Sex Education FAQs to refresh your knowledge of this captivating true love story.

God Uses a Woman to Teach about Sex

The Song of Solomon reveals a woman’s voice, the young Shulammite maiden, sharing her most intimate thoughts as she struggles with whom to marry.  The rich, handsome King Solomon captures her attention as he showers her with lewd playboy come-ons. Fortunately, her mother taught her well about choosing a lifelong sexual partner (Song of Solomon 8:1-2). The maiden takes her time and the story unfolds as she continually compares Solomon’s offers with her Shepherd boyfriend’s proposal.

Inspiring the Song of Solomon as a play to be performed before a mixed audience, God preserved a woman’s voice to publically teach his great lovemaking secrets. First, pay attention to soulmating before jumping under the covers. Then don’t be inhibited. Get drunk on lovemaking. Laugh and experiment often as you speak the beautiful language of love that transcends words to cement your hearts together. Let your masculinity and femininity balance and support each other.

Third Tuesday of each month:

The Power of Sexual Surrender for Christians: Dr. Marie N. Robinson’s Book Updated by the Most Outspoken Christian Woman on Sex

We’ll go through this book chapter by chapter. I’ll bring in scriptures and modern science to share the secret of a woman enjoying vaginal orgasms. While Dr. Robinson did not use scriptures in her teaching, she observed that religious women's faith gives them a greater capacity for enjoying lovemaking than women of the world. Together, we can delight in God’s portrait of the multi-orgasmic Christian woman who doesn’t need sex toys.

I’m Updating The Power of Sexual Surrender for Christians

While we’re discussing The Power of Sexual Surrender and your comments and questions are stimulating my thinking, I’m going to write the third volume to the Marriage: A Taste of Heaven series: The Power of Sexual Surrender for Christians, Dr. Marie N. Robinson’s Book Updated by the Most Outspoken Christian Woman on Sex.

The Roots of Male and Female Frigidity

As I go through Dr. Robinson’s book and the Song of Solomon, we’ll explore details of frigidity. For now, notice the roots of sexual inhibitions Dr. Robinson teaches:

  1. Failure to understand and appreciate the opposite sex.
  2. Failure to understand and appreciate one’s own femininity or masculinity.

My cover artist, Phillip Gessert, said, “I started the ribbon a bit folded and slightly ordered, then unfurled it toward the viewer with a bit more extreme perspective than the previous versions, for a 'let loose' feeling. For the interior bit of the ribbon, I used a dusty light blue to bring frigidity to mind and as it unfurls, the outer bit is more apparent—and I heat up the blue into purple.”

A male reviewer wrote, “What's interesting to me is where the ribbon is bunched up that symbolizes frigidity, but as both partners are able to surrender to each other, it’s represented so well by the ribbon as it opens up more. Also, for me one color represents the husband and the wife with the other color. Together they are one as the ribbon is one with two colors. Fascinating as several people look at the same cover and it’s interpreted maybe with the same results but for different reasons.  I like what your artist was thinking.’
